Quote of the Whenever
Quote of the Whenever:
“Queen Elizabeth has 10 times the lifespan of workers and lays up to 2,000 eggs a day.”
-from this news article, where apparently someone did a find/replace to replace “the Queen” with “Queen Elizabeth” without checking whether that made any sense.
Quote | Comment (0)Idea File: Surrogate Pockets
Not that this is going to post, since Blogger’s being an ass, but to file it away for once posting gets straightened out…
Idea file: A pair of “surrogate pockets” that you’d hang by your front door. They’d look like pants pockets without the pants, hanging from a strip of cloth, hung by the door. When you came into the house, you’d take your wallet, keys, etc. out of your pants pockets and put them in the surrogate pockets, and then they’d be right there when you wanted to leave. You might never lose your wallet or keys again. (Won’t work as well for women who keep everything in their purses, I guess. But for men, it could be great.)

Quote of the Whenever:
Mr. Furious: Lance Hunt *IS* Captain Amazing.
The Shoveller: Don’t start that *again*. Lance Hunt wears glasses. Captain Amazing *doesn’t* wear glasses.
Mr. Furious: He takes them off when he transforms.
The Shoveller: That doesn’t make any sense, he wouldn’t be able to see.

Quote | Comment (0)30 or 60?
This season, NBC added to its schedule two new shows about life behind the scenes at a “Saturday Night Live”-style sketch comedy show. One is called “Studio 60″, and it’s 60 minutes long. The other is called “30 Rock”, and it’s 30 minutes long. Suppose they put the numbers right there in the titles so that you could remember which is which?

I’m sick. Nothing really serious–probably just a cold, or something–but I’m pretty uncomfortable right now. Sore throat, achy, the works. So I’ve been lying in bed all day, drinking tea. (Stash Green Tea Chai, since I know you were wondering.) And this on a beautiful, sunny Saturday.
Oh well, at least it’s given me time to read some haiku.

Flow
Go check out this Flash game, Flow. It’s stunningly beautiful, and you really feel like you’re part of an ecosystem. I heard about it when I heard there’s a PS3 version coming out, but the Flash version is already gorgeous.
